Information on the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) and the Disposal of Waste Electrical Equipment

1. Your obligations under the ElektroG

According to § 10 (1) sentence 1 ElektroG, as the owner of waste electrical equipment, you are required to dispose of such devices separately from unsorted household waste.

According to § 10 (1) sentence 2 ElektroG, you are required to remove waste batteries and waste accumulators that are not enclosed by the device, as well as lamps that can be removed from the device without being destroyed, before handing the device over to a collection point. This does not apply if, according to § 14 (4) sentence 4 or § 14 (5) sentences 2 and 3 ElektroG, devices are separated in order to prepare them for reuse.

If a device is marked with the following symbol, it has the following meaning:

This symbol indicates the separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment. The above‑mentioned obligations for separate disposal apply in particular to these devices.

2. Our obligations under the ElektroG

The return of waste equipment to us is always free of charge for you.

If you purchase a pedelec from our online shop as a private customer, we are obligated to take back an old bicycle of the same type that essentially performs the same functions as the new bicycle, free of charge. If we deliver the pedelec you purchased to your private household, we are required to collect the old bicycle from your home at no cost to you.

Free collection is limited to electrical and electronic equipment of category 4 (§ 2 (1) sentence 1 ElektroG). For waste equipment that does not exceed 25 centimeters in any external dimension, we are required to provide suitable return options within a reasonable distance from the end user.

3. Return through us

If you purchase a pedelec in our online shop, we will take back an old bicycle of the same device type that essentially performs the same functions as the new bicycle, free of charge, by collecting it from your private household upon delivery. This applies regardless of the category of your old device, as long as it is the same device type. If you would like to make use of this service, please contact us by phone at +49 89 201 959 888.
